- The legend behind the construction of the Coral Castle is quite interesting and gives a chance to ponder. The story goes that Edward Leedskalnin, the builder of the Castle, was a man of an eccentric nature. Stories claim that it was built using reverse magnetism or supernatural abilities, with stones weighing tons!

- Edward was allegedly jilted in love as a young man when his fiance called off the engagement a day before their wedding. He spent 28 years constructing the Coral Castle. Leedskalnin happily greeted visitors and provided them a tour as well.

- A few teenagers claimed to have witnessed the process, as Edward lifted coral blocks as easily as "hydrogen balloons". It was then known as "Ed's place" during the 1920s.

- More than 1,000 tons of sedimentary rock like limestone, was quarried and sculpted into a variety of shapes, including slab walls, tables, chairs, a crescent moon, a water fountain, and a sundial.

- He suffered from a severe case of tuberculosis and suffered a stroke at some point and eventually died of kidney failure at the age of 64.

- Other interesting features of the castle include a 9-ton gate that moves with just a touch of the finger, a telescope, and functioning rocking chairs ? all made entirely of stone.
