About Chengdu Museum

Chengdu Museum is a museum located in China. It is managed by a non-profit organization called National Shadow Puppetry Museum in Chengdu. The museum was opened for the public in September 2016. The museum is located west of Tianfu Square Downtown. It is spread in an area of 11333 square meters and the total floor area is approximately 65000 square meters. The opening timing is 9:00 am to 5:00 pm from Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday while on Friday and Saturday it remains open until 8:30 pm. It remains closed on Monday.

Some Lesser Known Facts About Chengdu Museum

The museum educates about the history and culture of the place. The display is divided into four parts which are Pre-Qin Times, second part shows Qin to the Southern and Northern Dynasties. It gives information about the Song to Yuan Dynasties as well as about Ming and Qing Dynasties.
It also organizes temporary and special exhibitions which include artwork of Pan Yulin, Buddhism Statuary Art, a glimpse of Western Masterpieces, and others.
The building of the museum is capable of surviving an earthquake of 8 Richter Scale.
The museum also does researches and organizes Academic lectures to provide information about various subjects.
You can see artifacts related to Ming and Qing Dynasties, Tang and Song Dynasties, and other dynasties which ruled the region at any time.
