Calico Museum of Textiles is one of the renowned places situated in Gujrat, India. The place is committed to displaying the past time and present scenario of textile in India. The museum was established by two siblings named Gira Sarabhai and Gautam Sarabhai.
History
The museum was constructed in the year 1949 by the two popular Gujrati Siblings named Gira Sarabhai and Gautam Sarabhai. The museum was built when the textile industry was growing rapidly in the country. The museum was initially set up infamous Calico Mills but later moved in the Shahibaug, the home of the siblings named the Sarabhai House.

The Calico Museum is located near the airport which can be easily routed by all means of transportation options available near the place.

By Bus
The museum is located in an area where one can simply catch a bus or can get down from a bus from the nearby stands which are located at the distance of not more than 3 km like the Shahi Baug stand, GSRTC Baug and Girdhar Baug, and the approximate time consumed to reach from these stands is 8-10 minutes hardly.
By Train
One can arrive at the nearest railway stations which are situated very close to the museum only at a distance of 5-8 km and these stations are Sabarmati Junction, Ahemdabad Junction, Chandlodiya and Asarva these are some stations from where visitors can arrive and then route his/her way to the museum which will take 15-20 minutes to reach Calico Museum of Textiles.
By Airport
The museum is itself situated on the Airport road and travelers can land at the closest airport which is the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport located only at a distance of 6km and can be routed in 12-15 minutes and visitors can also deboard at one more nearby airport which is the domestic airport, the Ahmedabad Domestic Airport which is also 6km away from the place and will take 10-12 minutes to reach the final destination.
By Ferry
One can also opt to travel by ferry means of transport, the museum is also located to some nearby ferry terminals such as the Riverfront Boarding Station 1, Riverfront Boarding Station 2, Riverfront Boarding Station 3, these terminals are simply accessible by the passengers and all three are distant at the distance of not more than 8-10 km and will consume 15-20 minutes to reach Calico Museum of Textiles by hiring a cab or any public transport which is available outside of each terminal.
