About Charminar
The Charminar is a sixteenth-century monument situated in Hyderabad city of Telangana, India. It is also a mosque and is among the most recognized structures throughout India. The monument was constructed in 1591 on the order of Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah. As the name suggests, it has four minarets and has a height of 48.7 meters. It is located on the eastern bank of the Musi River and is a site for a number of festivals celebration like Eid al-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha. It is also an important tourist attraction and is preserved by the Archaeological Survey of India. The mosque remains open from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm throughout the week. The monument is located just seven kilometers from the Hyderabad Railway Station while five kilometers from the bus station. A variety of public and private transport is available to take you to your destination.
