About Coiba
Coiba Island is an island in Panama. It spread in an area of 503 kilometer square. The island is located in the Gulf of Chiriqui. It is now converted into a national park and is a UNESCO heritage Site. Here you can see diverse marine life like hammerhead sharks, whales and manta rays. It is a home to wild animals like white-faced monkey. The island is also popular due to its dive sites on Bahia Damas Reef. It was a penal colony and access to the island was restricted that?s why natural resources of this island are safe and untouched. It requires permit to access the park. You can easily arrive on this island after a hour and fifteen minute boat ride from Santa Catalina?s beach. Overnight stay facility is also available.
