- The iconic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel was opened on May 15, 1927. It is named after President Theodore Roosevelt and has been designated as the LA historic-cultural monument no.545.

- Hotel Roosevelt is notorious for alleged paranormal activities, that is, sightings of ghosts of celebrities that have spent considerable amounts of time here, have been reported. These include names like Marilyn Monroe and Montgomery Cliff, Carmen Miranda and Humphery Bogart. The premises are haunted by these lurking spirits.

- A full-length mirror sits in the basement that is said to have belonged to Marilyn Monroe. Some have claimed to seeing her standing by the mirror. Non-believers argue that a picture of Marilyn hanging opposite the mirror, might be the cause of this phenomena. A trick of the brain. But believers are persistent.

- Another incident involves hearing the voice of the American actor Montgomery Cliff. It's believed that you can hear him recite his lines and hum a line or two in his old suite, room 928.

- The first ever Academy Awards were held in the Blossom Ballroom of the hotel. The winners were announced and the ceremony was over in 15 minutes. The tickets cost $5 and a total of 250 people attended.

- A suite on the top floor of the hotel is famously known as the "Gable-Lombard" suite. This is the suite that actor Clark Gable and actress Carole Lombard stayed in during their infamous affair.
