Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex is a former site of the coal industry located in Essen city of Germany. It was started in 1847 and continued to work until late 1986. The two parts of the industry named Zollverein Coal Mine and Zollverein Coking Plant were the largest of their kind for several years. It was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2001.
