About New Lanark
New Lanark is a historical place in Scotland. It is a small village on the River Clyde. It is just 2.2 kilometers away from Lanark while about 40 kilometers away from the southeast of Glasgow, Scotland. The village was founded by David Dale in the year 1786. He set up a cotton mill and also houses for the workers. The mills worked until 1968 but now it has become a tourist attraction. The village has a population of about 200 and all the houses is restored. You can visit the place using a car. There are also free parking facilities on the outskirts of the village while a disabled person is also allowed to take their car inside the village. If you prefer a bus journey then you can take bus number 135 from Lanark bus stand. Trains for the place are also available which takes only half an hour from Glasgow.
