About Mehrauli Archaeological Park
It is a historical landmark in the capital city of India. It is an archaeological site covering an area of more than 200 acre and is located very close to Qutb complex. It is the oldest extant fort of Delhi.
Some Lesser Known Facts About Mehrauli Archaeological Park
- The place has a glimpse of various rulers in Delhi including the Tughlaq dynasty, Khaliji dynasty, Mughal Empire, Lodhi dynasty, and British Raj.
- The site contains tombs of different rulers, mosques, step-wells, stables, and rose gardens.
- When you make a plan to visit the place then be sure that you must see Jamali Kamali Mosque, Tomb of Mohammed Quli Khan, Masjid Sohailwali, and the Tomb of Khan Shahid.

- Adham Khan's Mausoleum which is situated in north was used by British residence while later on it was converted into police station and post office.

- You will be amazed to know the fact that there is an empty place at the burial ground near the Zafar Mahal which was kept for Bahadur Shah Zafar but unfortunately he died in Burma and was buried there.
- There is also Hijron ka Khanqah which is a burial ground for hijras. The identity of the buried are kept confidential here.

- Jamali- Kamali tomb is also popular as the most haunted place in Delhi. Many visitors felt djinns with evil intentions while many claim to have slapped by invisible person. Some also says that they suffered perpetual nightmares after entering this place.
