About Lawang Sewu
Lawang Sewu is a historical building in Indonesia. Its construction began in 1904 while it was completed in 1919 to serve as the headquarters of the Dutch East Indies Railway Company. The building has several doors and arcs which is reason it got its name Lawang Sewu which means ?Thousand Doors? in Javanese. The building was designed by C. Citroen. It has three floors including a large stained-glass windows as well as a huge staircase in the center. The building is visited by over one thousand people daily.
