Lapangan Banteng History, Travel Information, Facts And More

Lapangan Banteng is a popular square in Central Jakarta, Indonesia. There are huge monuments surrounded by four streets which are Timur (east), Utara (north), Barat (west), and Selatan(south). It is about 230 by 250 meters in size. It was an important square at the time Dutch colonial era and served as a place for military parades. The square remains open all days of the week but as the nearby sites are closed on Mondays so try to visit the place on any other day except Monday.

A square is a well-connected place with public transport. You can take the bus on routes number 2C,3, 5C, and 6H. Your bus will leave you either at Lapangan Banteng, or at Masjid Istiqlal, Hotel Borobudur or Lapangan Banteng 2 close to the destination. Deplu, Juanda, and Juanda Istiqlal are also nearby bus stand situated at a distance of 6 or 7-minute walk. If you prefer a train ride then you can opt for Bekasi Line you have to get off at Juanda or Kemayoran train station situated at a distance of 10 minute and 22-minute walk respectively from the square.
