About Historic Town of Zabid
Zabid is a town on the western coastal plain of Yemen. The city was founded before the seventh century as it has a mosque which was built in 628 AD. It was the capital of Yemen in the period starting from the 13th century to the 15th. It was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1993 and became one of the World Heritage Site in Danger in the year 2000. The city was named after Wadi Zabid.
