About Ducketts Grove House
Duckett's Grove House is a historical landmark situated in County Carlow of Ireland. It covers an area of about 5000 acres. Its construction was started in 1745 under the guidance of Thomas Cobden, and John Macduff Derick. It was completed in 1825. The house was occupied by Duckett?s family until 1937. Now it is owned by Government of Ireland. The interior of the house was destroyed by a fire in April 1933. It is surrounded by two inter-connected walled gardens which gives a beautiful scenarios where shrubs of Echium, Acanthus, Watsonia, Iris and other flowers are planted. The visitors can admire the natural beauty of these garden while on their trip to Ducketts Grove. There is no entry tickets to visit the place and is open for the public in daytime.

- It was mentioned in an episode of the television show "Destination Truth" which was shown on 17 March 2011.

- The house is reportedly haunted by several ghosts and the most popular of them is a Banshee. According to the belief, the house was subject to a curse which led the family to death, and financial ruin. The curse was given by a mother of a young girl who fell from her horse while riding on the estate. She was in an affair with William Duckett. Many of the people have heard shrieking of the banshee including a woman who died after falling and a worker who heard the Banshee cry and his mother passed away the next morning.

- Some people claim that they heard servants' voices working in the kitchen, and pantry as well as voices of horse and carriage. According to the locals, many members of the Duckett family haunted the location including the ghost of William Duckett who is seen riding a horse in the estate. The site became a topic of talk who believes in paranormal occurrences and gaining the attention of those who wants to know the truth.
