About Agrasen Ki Baoli
It is a historical landmark situated near Connaught Place, New Delhi. The monument is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India. It is about sixty meter long and fifteen meter wide step well and is believed to be made by the king Agrasen.
Some Lesser Known Facts About Agrasen Ki Baoli
- There is no entry ticket to witness the monument. Any person can go and see the monument from seven in the morning to six in the evening.
- If you have seen the Bollywood film "PK" than you must know that the place was used by Aamir Khan's character to live.
- It has 103 stone steps and was used as a water reservoir at the time it was made. It is also noticed that the tempreture at the down stairs is lower than the above. (Isn't it fantastic that in-between the heavy traffic markets of Delhi, there is a place which is very quiet and also protects the visitors from scorching heat of the sun!)
- It is believed that the place was made at the time of Mahabharata.
- The site also has a mosque which is situated of South-West side of Baoli and is situated on four pillars with heavy stone on its roof.
- Some people also experience some paranormal activities at the place. Some visitors experienced strange presence that's why the place is also known for being haunted.
