About University of Guelph Arboretum
The University of Guelph Arboretum is a botanical garden located in Guelph city of Ontario province in Canada. It was founded in 1971 on a land of about 165 hectares. It is managed by the University of Guelph. Justine Richardson is currently serving as the Director of the Arboretum. It receives over 70 thousand visitors in a year. The garden could be accessed any day of the week between 7:00 am to 8:30 pm. There is no entry fee to access the garden.
How To Reach University of Guelph Arboretum
You have to drive on Highway number 6 south (Hanion Expressway) from the north and then turn left on the Wellington Road number 38 after driving a small distance the same road becomes Victoria Road then turn right for the College Premises. If you are coming here from the South then you have to drive your vehicle on Highway number 401 up to exit number 299 which is called Country Road number 46 then you have to turn right for the college. For the visitors from East or West Highway #7 or #24 take you to the Victoria Road or Hanion Expressway(Highway #6 South). You have to walk about 300 meters from the parking lot of the college after walking you can find the Arboretum on the right side. The parking is free and the visitors are suggested to park their vehicles at the parking lot.

- The Arboretum was founded taking inspiration from the Arnold Arboretum of the Harvard University.
- The garden has a collection of about 1700 types of trees and shrubs. Its collection includes plants like crab apple, Maple, conifer, and birch. Flowers like Rose, lilac are also found in the garden which is managed without using any pesticides, insecticides, or fungicides.

- In addition to being a study center and live classes for the education and research of the students, it also serves as a tourist attraction.

- The garden also serves as a venue for organizing dinners, memorial services as well as weddings.

- They warmly welcome volunteers for gardening, staff support, administration, fundraising, and other events. More than 100 volunteers work in the garden at this time.

- The Arboretum is divided into different sections like Frances Ball Rose Garden, Woody plants and Dwarf Conifer Collection, Gosling Wildlife Gardens, Japanese and English Garden.
- The garden also has beautiful fountains and other structures which add to its beauty.
