About Kew Gardens
With over 50,000 living plants, this botanic garden is noted to be the largest and most diverse in the world. Offering exceptional panoramas, sights, and iconic architecture, the garden was set up in the early 18th century. It was set up as a royal palace to today's globally renowned scientific institution for plant and fungal research. The garden is a non-departmental public body in the United Kingdom. It is sponsored by the Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs. The attraction consists of more than 1,100 employees.
History
Its formation was initiated by Princess Augusta, the mother of King George III. The garden was created in a nine-acre botanic garden within the pleasure grounds at Kew in 1759. Building of the Great Pagoda if credited to William Chambers in 1762.

By car
It is suggested by the authority to visit the attraction early in the morning if taking a car as the parking space is very limited. Late arrivals may find issues in parking their vehicles. People can consider walking, cycling or taking public transport if they have planned to visit in the noon or later.
By bus
Route 65 stops close to Lion Gate, Elizabeth Gate, and Victoria Gate. Route 110 stops near Kew Gardens station and Elizabeth Gate. Routes 237 and 267 stops at Kew Bridge station.
By train
Kew Bridge station is 800m from Elizabeth Gate, via Kew Bridge. South West Trains run services from Waterloo, via Vauxhall and Clapham Junction. There is no level of access at Kew Bridge. Richmond station has a lift and level access. Take 65 bus (in the direction of Ealing Broadway) to Lion or Victoria Gate.
By bike
Cyclists can also visit the Garden without the stress of parking, as there are bicycle racks at all four gates. Two of the gates including Elizabeth and Victoria Gate, the racks are inside the gates. The limited number of lockers at Victoria Gate is closed off. It is not allowed to take bicycles, tricycles, skates, and scooters inside.
