Aram Bagh is an old botanical garden located in the city of Agra, Uttar Pradesh in India. It was created in 1528 on an order of Mughal Emperor Babur. It is a beautiful garden and must be visited during a visit to Agra. The garden could be visited between 6:00 am to 6:30 pm any day of the week. A small amount of fee which is Rupees 15 per person is required for an Indian to enter to admire the beauty of this garden. While if you are a foreign national then you have to pay 200 INR for a visit.

The garden is located just five kilometers away from the popular tourist destination Taj Mahal and is well connected with public transport.

If you are going there by bus then you have to leave your bus at the Agra bus stand or at the Ram Bagh bus stand. WaterWorks Crossing is also located nearby. You can reach the park by a small walk or can hire a rickshaw which will leave you at the gate of the park.

Going there by train is also a good option. Some of the nearby train stations are Agra Cantt, Agra City station, Raja Ki Mandi, Agra Fort, Tundla Junction, and Pathauli.   • An important fact about the garden, you must know is that Babur was interred here in the garden for a brief period. Later on, his grave was shifted to Kabul.

  • One more legend related to the garden was that Jahangir spent his time in this garden after gaining victory over Fort of Kangra in March 1621. He was waiting for the best time according to astrological prediction to enter the city.

  • There is also confusion relating to its name. Its name was Aram Bagh but was changed to Ram Bagh under Maratha reign. So don't get confused, it is the same and the same thing.
  • The park was made close to the Yamuna river so that the water from the river could be used through canals and the water supply in the garden remains uninterrupted. There were also hammams (bath) at the time of the Mughal empire which is now closed for the public.
