About Pioneer and Military Memorial Park
It is one of the seven historic cemeteries throughout the capital city of Arizona. It was established in 1884 situated at 1317 W. Jefferson Street Phoenix, Arizona (USA). It was initially known as Block 32 and later renamed in early 2007 when added to NRHP. The site is open only on Thursday by appointment.

  • It is the final resting place of thousands of pioneers of AZ State.
  • The burial grounds got his initial name "Block 32" because it was made of 7 historic burial sites of different names. They were in use between 1884 and 1914.
  • There are an estimated 3700 graves of which 600 graves have headstones. Some of the burials' locations are unknown.
  • The nearby Smurthwaite House is also a historic place. It was built in 1897 by Creighton & Millard. The house is a brilliant example of shingle-style architecture.
