About Home Mission Cemetery in Surprise AZ
It is the historic cemetery is situated in Maricopa County in Arizona (USA). It was established in 1936. It is presently in the abandoned condition. The graveyard is denoted as historic by PCA for its completion of the 50 years.
History
The cemetery is initially built within a one-acre by a homesteader of the area named Marie Thompson. The land was part of the Thompson family ranch is where the Thompson family has regularly performed bible studies. In 1936, Marie's son Robert Thompson aged 15 years and his friend were playing with a gun and accidentally shot Robert. That 15-year old Robert Thompson was the first interred in the Thompson Cemetery also known as Home Mission Cemetery.
