About Fort Smith National Cemetery
It is the historic cemetery located in the second largest city named Fort Smith of the Arkansas state in the US. It was established in 1867 and spread up to an area of 21.7 acres. There are approximately 13,000 interments in the cemetery as of 2005. The official hours of the cemetery are from 8 AM to 4:30 PM on Monday through Friday. It is open for visitation from dawn to dusk every day.

- It is the final resting place of nearly 1500 confederate unknown soldiers who died during the civil war in America. A marble monument was erected in the memory of the soldiers.
