About Ephesus Cemetery

It is the historic cemetery situated near Emmet city in Nevada (AR) USA. It was established in 1876 and spread into an area of less than one acre. It is denoted as the last survival element of its era across the city. One can reach the place easily via U.S. Highway 67, Emmet as the cemetery lay just on the roadside and the graves are visible from the road.

Some Lesser Known Facts About Ephesus Cemetery

It is the final resting place of many early settlers of the city. The oldest burial in the cemetery belongs to 1876.
It is a small size cemetery that contains around 95 graves in which only 68 are marked and the rest are unknown.
The burial site bounded by a chain-link fencing net from three sides, the west side bounded by lined trees.
The markers in the cemetery are facing east and most of them are homemade by using granite and marble. Many markers are broken and damaged too.
There are no formal plots; all burials are taken place in small groups together.
In early 2009, the cemetery listed as a national historic place to the NRHP.
