It is a historic cemetery located in Tempe city of Arizona (USA). It was founded in 1888. A part of the cemetery designated as the historic property of the nation and added to the national register of the historic places. The site is open for visitation every day from dawn to dusk.

The cemetery got his name from the Double Butte Mountain. It is situated on the baseline of the mountain.
The land for the cemetery was actually donated by the well-known Tempe entrepreneur and landlord Niels Petersen in 1890.
