About Boothill Graveyard Tombstone

It is a small cemetery situated in the historic city of Tombstone, Arizona in the United States. It was established in 1878. There are at least 250 interments in the graveyard. It is a popular tourist attraction across the city and opens every day from 8 AM to around 6 PM. It is managed by the City of Tombstone. There is an entry fee per person in the place.

Some Lesser Known Facts About Boothill Graveyard Tombstone

Though it was built in 1878 but started to use after 1883. It was used to bury the outlaws.
There is also a detached Jewish cemetery situated in the nearby area.
There are many notable graves of outlaws including Billy Clanton, Tom McLaury, China Mary, Three Fingered Jack, and more.
The cemetery fell into disrepair until the 1940s. The city started programs to restore and preserve it.
Aside from outlaws, the place is also the final resting place of Tombstone's earliest pioneers.
Most of the graves are there not marked in their accurate location.
There are many unknown gravesites due to people didn't carry any type of identification in the early days.
The site is added to the National register of historic places.
