About Wawel Castle
Wawel Castle is a castle situated in the Old Town area of Krakow city in Poland. It covers an area of 7040 meters square. The castle was built in the 13th and 14th centuries on the order of King Casimir III the Great. It features Gothic, Romanesque, early Baroque, and Renaissance architectural styles. It was designated as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1978. It could be visited between 9:30 am to 5:00 pm from Wednesday to Sunday. On Monday and Tuesday, it closes at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm respectively.
