About Kasteel Waardenburg
Waardenburg Castle is a castle located in Netherland. It is located in the municipality of West Betuwe in the Gelderland province. The castle was found in August of 1265 by Count Otto II of Gelre. However, it was destroyed by Louis of Nassau in 1574. It was reconstructed in 1627 and damaged again at the time of the Second World War when the bomb was a blast at the nearby Bommelse Brug The castle is now open for tourists.
Some Lesser Known Facts About Kasteel Waardenburg
- According to the local lore, Doctor Faust used to live in the castle starting from 1842 who made a deal with the devil to get all the knowledge of the world for seven years in exchange for his soul. After seven years, the devil came and dragged him by his hair. The bloodstains on the pavement of the castle. Johann Georg Faust was real who was imprisoned in Batenburg Castle for many years.
