Grand Paradi Apartments is a residential complex situated in Mumbai, India. It has three 28-storeyed towers located in South Mumbai. - Though, the tower is located in the most posh area of Mumbai and is considered to be the most desirable apartments of the city. But the rates of increasing suicides in this apartment often strike a mystery in the minds of residents as well as those who are planning to buy a home in this tower.
- You will not believe that about 20 people have committed suicide in this complex since 1998. A girl named Charisma who fell in love with a guy who was not as rich as her family committed suicide as her family did not accept her love.
- A maid who was not satisfied with her work and an employee of a brewery company called Mr. Jain committed suicide by jumping from their balcony.
- The case of Dalal family who lived in eighth floor is the most shaking among the cases of suicide in this tower. In 1998, an elderly couple named Vasodeo and Tara Dalal committed suicide from the eighth-floor and left a suicide note blaming their son and daughter-in-law for abusing them. They jumped from the balcony for being fed up with harassment. As the suicide note blamed Balkrishna (son) and Sonal (daughter-in-law) there was a trial in the court for abetment on both of them. In 2005, on the day of verdict, both Sonal and Balkrishna committed suicide by jumping from the same balcony as the elderly couple committed suicide seven years before. Also, their 19-year-old daughter Pooja jumped with them and the three were holding hands while jumping. Thus, three generations of the Dalal family ended in the eighth floor of this tower.
- Another case of suicide was of a woman who first threw her children and then jumped herself from the balcony, all died on the spot.
- Also, a counseling session was organized by the society for the residents to combat the rising suicides at the place. Due to several suicides, the towers, especially eight floor in the complex is considered to be most haunted and is widely gaining media attention.
