Some Lesser Known Facts About Oiran Buchi

  • It is said that Takdeda Clan owned a gold mine in the area. He also owned a brothel at the place so that the miners and guards remain happy and work for the owner without complaining. When he lost in the battle of Nagashino, the mine also began to run dry. He decided to close the mine but was afraid that the prostitutes here could tell his secret to any other person. He made a plan and made a platform over the gorge and said all the 55 women that they have to perform on this stage as a farewell party. When these women were on stage, he ordered his men to cut the support on which the platform was standing. As a result, all the women fell on the big waterfall and died. Their bodies were later on recovered from the bend in the gorge. You can still hear the wails and screams of women who died here.
