About Forth Bridge
The Forth Bridge is a cantilever bridge to cross the Firth of Forth in Scotland. The bridge is over 8000 feet long which is 120 feet wide at piers and 32 feet wide at the center. It is situated at a height of 361 feet above the water. It was designed by Sir John Fowler and Sir Benjamin Baker. Its construction started in 1882 and was completed in late 1889. It started operation in March 1890. About 190 to 200 trains cross the bridge each day.
