About The North Pier
The North Pier is located in Blackpool was designed by famous designer Eugenius Birch in 1860. It is of total 500 m in length. It is the oldest, longest and the most beautiful one. It has a big deck, theater and a carousel at the end of the pier and also a sun lounge. Even after the destruction from fire and storms, this pier is in use.

Some Lesser Known Facts About The North Pier

  • The bulk of the pier is built of cast iron with a wooden deck. The cast iron piles are drilled into sand up till it reached the bedrock. The pier consists of an esplanade which is around 468 yards long and 9 yards wide extending to 18 yards. The esplanade deck is made of wooden benches with cast iron backs on it.
