About Abbey of Saint Gall
The abbey of Saint Gall is an old abundant abbey situated in the city of St. Gallen in Switzerland. It was a Catholic religious complex. The abbey was founded in 747 and was dissolved in 1805. It remained an independent principality between the period of ninth to thirteenth centuries and was among the chief Benedictine abbey throughout Europe for many years. It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1983.
